Whether a keen gardener or a bit of a novice, the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery has what you are looking for - and more. The expert and always friendly staff are on hand to guide and advise, and with the largest collection of indoor plants in the Southwest, spilling out of an open, light and beautiful Glasshouse, as well as a huge variety of shrubs and herbaceous perennials, this is a nursery of the most exceptional kind. Many of the plants are sourced from Cornwall and the Southwest and if you need a new pot, planter or other gardenalia, you’ll find them in here too.

Visit the Cafe and Orangery, where food is prepared fresh every day,. Choose from the rustic cosiness of the Cafe, with menus for breakfast, lunch and cakes from the counter or the elegant Orangery, where you can choose to book for breakfast and lunch or book in advance for afternoon tea. Visit the Woodland Terrace and Tipi for take away hot and cold drinks, ice creams, hot snacks and cakes, with magnificent views across the valley to Restormel Castle.

Afternoon Tea is served in the elegant Orangery restaurant. A classic three-tiered stand for two, adorned with all manner of delectable fancies and moreish savouries. Flavours are inspired from the Nursery, neighbouring farms, and the turn of each season.

Afternoon tea is served every day in The Orangery from 2.30pm, Monday - Saturday and from 2pm on a Sunday, and must be booked 24 hours in advance.

A unique botanical yet classic dry gin distilled by artisan maker Colwith Farm Distillery in small batches, The Nursery Gin is a flavour of the Duchy. Using Duchy grown potatoes and infused with nursery honey and hand-picked lavender, rose, bay and rosemary, it captures the very essence of the nursery in an elegant and memorable gin presented in a beautiful hand illustrated glass bottle.

Originally a slate quarry, the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery began life producing forest trees in the late 1960s. It started to sell plants to the public in 1974 and went on to become one of the largest and most well-respected nurseries in the South West. Our nursery has grown a great deal since it began over 50 years ago.

The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is a small part of the Duchy of Cornwall, but it is very proud of its heritage. The Nursery is located at the heart of the Duchy estate. Whether you’re a visitor on a Saturday morning, a member of staff or The Duke of Cornwall himself, our Nursery is a place for everyone.
