Bodmin Railway

Cornwall’s Premier Steam Railway invites you to take a ride on our 13-mile round-trip through the scenic Cornish Countryside. Step back in time as you experience the era of steam travel at Bodmin Railway.

Hauling full size steam locos and diesel locomotives (on selective Saturdays throughout the year), Bodmin Railway’s branch line runs from Bodmin General, to Boscarne Junction and Bodmin Parkway.

Our 1950’s station is equipped with a gift shop and café, Cornish Rail Coffee Co, also located at main line stations Bodmin Parkway, Liskeard and Penzance.

Operating four train services in the shoulder season (March, May, and October) and five train services during peak season (June through September). Alongside a variety of special events throughout the year, including our popular Murder Mystery Trains, Driver Day Experiences, Steam Shanty Evenings, Galas, and seasonal themed events. 

Venue and train hire is available for weddings, wakes, private functions, and TV and film opportunities. Please get in touch via email to discuss any of these options further.

Tickets: We strongly encourage visitors to pre-book tickets online to guarantee seats, especially during peak season. If you wish to join at Bodmin Parkway tickets can be bought on the day from the buffet at Bodmin Parkway station.

Please check before travel to make sure that we are operating.

Catering: There is a coffee shop at Bodmin General station and in the old signal box at Bodmin Parkway station on the Cornish mainline.

Gift Shop: We have a well stock gift and model shop at Bodmin General.

Parking: Free parking is available on site although on busy days visitors may need to park elsewhere. The closest alternative Pay-and-Display car park is the Victoria Square car park PL31 1EB. Coach parking is available but must be booked in advance.

Group Visits: Private charter, venue hire and group rate bookings are also available. Check our website for more information or get in touch via email or phone – nothing is too much trouble!
