Stithians Lake
Stithians Lake is reputed to be one of the windiest inland waters in England!
It's not surprising therefore that it is a favourite with windsurfers and sailors alike. The Activity Centre provides modern and well-equipped facilities and visitors can take part in instructor-led sessions, hire equipment or launch their own craft. There is also a children’s play area on site.
In addition to the Activity Centre there is also a circular walk around the lake which is just under five miles long. There is also a cycleway along the northern shore and public footpaths may be accessed from the western shore for longer walks where walkers and bird watchers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and bird hides.
Overlooking the beautiful Stithians Lake you can enjoy some tasty treats from the onsite café. Wild Vibes café serves freshly made cakes, light lunches, delicious pizzas and fantastic hot drinks. Popular with walkers and families, this is also the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of watersports or trout fishing. Groups, including coach parties, are most welcome.
Stithians is one of England's most westerly trout fisheries and is regularly stocked with rainbow trout and also contains a natural head of brown trout. Fly fishing only, from both bank and boat.
For those who want to extend their stay, Stithians also boasts a fantastic lakeside campsite, ideal for families and watersports fanatics alike. With 35 pitches (including 15 electric hook-ups), modern showers, toilets and wash-up facilities and stunning and unrivalled views across this 275 acre lake, this site is a real gem.
