We’re putting the sweet and sour into happy hour, with expertly shaken or stirred tipples just the way you like it. Let our talented bar team shake things up, with our menu served from 5pm until late.

Join us for our murder mystery in Cornwall. On Saturday 22nd February, step through the grand oak doors of The Great Hall, into the raunch of 1930s Paris, for a night of glamour, intrigue, and suspense.

You’re invited to rub shoulders with the Bohemians and aristocrats at the infamous Moulin Rouge. The greatest show on earth is about to take place, an electrifying affair for fresh eyes, but nothing out of the ordinary for the seasoned cabaret performers. That is until, an astonishing crime is committed under everyone’s noses, and a thrilling show turns into something far more sinister.

Pay close attention as the evening unfolds, and be careful not to get swept up in the charm and razzle dazzle, as everyone has a motive for keeping you on their side. Whilst you dine on our four-course, French-inspired menu, listen out for clues between courses, interrogate the suspects, and try to identify the killer in the room.

Appearances are everything at the Moulin Rouge, so we’d like you to dress to impress. Turn heads in burlesque, feather-lined corsets, shimmy your way to your seat in glitzy flapper dresses, or suit up for the occasion with your best tailcoat and top hat. Don’t be fooled by anyone’s exterior, it could all just be a cover up act.

On 5th March 2025, our Head Chef Ollie Wyatt will be hosting an intimate tasting evening at The Alverton. The evening will be a celebration of Truro and will highlight the very best seafood, grass-fed meats and harvest from our ‘Great Little City’.

Falling on St Piran’s Day, what better place to celebrate the patron saint of Cornwall from than our oasis in the capital city. Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm sit down, then indulge in a five course tasting menu, and raise a glass to St Piran with us.
