In Conversation: A Wild Cornish Future

In celebration of the opening of the new Nature Gallery and Kurt Jackson’s Biodiversity exhibition, Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery is hosting an evening of discussion and debate about the future of Cornwall’s unique ecosystem.

This event is a conversation between Devon-based nature writer Sophie Pavelle and climate researcher Dr. Mark Wilson from the University of Bath, with former BBC Journalist Ali Vowles presenting the discussion.

The dialogue has been prompted by the creation of the reimagined Nature Gallery at the museum in collaboration with Cornwall Wildlife Trust; here climate, biodiversity, human impact and conservation are seen through a Cornish lens.

Kurt Jackson: My Work and the Environment

Kurt Jackson’s work is deeply connected with landscape and the natural environment, and his large scale plein-air paintings have come to encapsulate contemporary Cornish landscape painting.

In this talk in connection with his current exhibition, Biodiversity, Jackson will explore how his creative process is intrinsically linked with what he describes as “the minutiae of my surroundings, that rich tapestry of life above, around and at my feet that coexists in its myriad webs."
