Private Appointments
Private appointments can be booked with the gallery to view and purchase original paintings at the beautiful Edwardian property that houses the gallery in Falmouth. Exhibition Events
The gallery has built up working relationships with many of Cornwall’s most famous attractions, and every few years puts on unique exhibition events showcasing the new paintings from the artists. Previous exhibition events have been held at the Gyllyngdune Gardens in Falmouth, St Michael’s Mount, Eden Project, National Trust Trelissick Gardens and Carwinion House, Falmouth Art gallery and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. To be invited to the gallery’s special exhibition events you can request to join their mailing list to receive catalogues and invitations.
Gallery Artists
All of the Cornish artists, and their work that is exhibited on the gallery, are exclusively represented by The John Dyer Gallery, making this a unique online gallery to discover the very best Cornish art that you won’t find elsewhere. The artists all have examples of their work held in public collections and are established names in Cornwall’s art history.
John Dyer (b 1968)
Artist John Dyer is one of Cornwall’s best known and most widely collected artists. As the artist in residence for the Eden Project, an official artist for the Earth for Earth Day, artist in residence for the Falmouth Tall Ships regattas in 1998, 2008 and 2014 and the artist in residence for many organisations from St Michael’s Mount, the Tresco Estate and many NGOs around the world his art is among the most sought after in Cornwall. John Dyer's paintings can be found in the public collections of Falmouth Art Gallery, the Eden Project, the National Trust at Glendurgan Garden and the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.
Joanne Short (b 1967)
Artist Joanne Short is Cornwall’s leading colourist painter and an elected member of the elite Newlyn Society of Artists. Joanne’s unique way of painting has attracted art buyers from all over the world and her work is held in the public collections of Falmouth Art Gallery and Truro city council.
Ted Dyer (b 1940)
Artist Ted Dyer is now in his 84th year and he has one of the longest and most accomplished careers of painting the Cornish landscape of any Cornish artist. Ted Dyer’s stunning traditional Cornish impressionist oil paintings are future heirlooms that will last and inspire for generations to come. Ted Dyer has his work in the permanent collection of Falmouth Art Gallery.
