Polurrian Cove Beach

Polurrian Cove is a sandy west-facing beach within walking distance of Mullion, the largest village on the Lizard Peninsula.

Polurrian Cove is owned by Polurrian on the Lizard and can be accessed through the hotel grounds.

Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Polurrian Cove’s vast shoreline of golden sand and patches of fine shingle are revealed at low tide. Surrounded by imposing wild Cornish cliffs and rugged rocky bluffs, the beach is exposed to Atlantic swell for good surf.

If you prefer to stay on shore, the South West Coast Path will lead you over the undulating headlands to Mullion Cove or to the famous Poldhu Cove and the Lizard Wireless Telegraph Station, where Italian inventor, Guglielmo Marconi, sent the first transatlantic radio signal from in December 1901.
