Little Gwendreath Holiday Cottages offers a charming collection of four two-bedroom cottages located on Cornwall's stunning Lizard Peninsula. Tucked away in a serene and peaceful setting, our cottages provide the perfect retreat while remaining conveniently close to Cornwall’s major attractions. Known for its unspoiled beauty, the Lizard Peninsula captivates visitors with its dramatic landscapes, sandy beaches, and rugged natural charm. As The Guardian aptly put it, the area is "almost impossibly pretty."

Just east of our cottages, a picturesque path meanders alongside a small stream, leading to Kennack Sands beach. This beautiful beach, divided into two sections by the hill of Carn Kennack, features two inviting cafés and the Kennack Sands Surf School, where you can try your hand at surfing. The eastern section of the beach welcomes dogs year-round, making it a favorite spot for families and their four-legged friends.

    A great base for the Lizard Peninsula...

    Each of our cottages features a main bedroom with a comfortable double bed and a second bedroom that can be set up with either a super king or twin single beds—simply let us know your preferred arrangement when booking. The living room in every cottage also includes a versatile day bed that converts into a king-size sofa bed for added flexibility.

    A shared outbuilding serves as our communal laundry space and offers a selection of games, books, beach equipment, and useful local information for all our guests to enjoy.

    We have a minimum stay requirement of three nights, except during the summer school holidays when we offer week-long stays from Saturday to Saturday.

    If you plan to bring an electric vehicle, please inform us of its make, model, and battery capacity in advance, as additional charges may apply.

    Pets are warmly welcomed for an additional fee of £30 per pet per booking.

    “This was our first trip with our dog and we were looking for a dog friendly cottage. We couldn't have stayed at a better place. The cottage is small, but a perfect size for what we needed and contains all the essentials and more. Beautifully kept and spotlessly clean, plus a fenced garden which was brilliant for our dog. To top it off, some delicious home made cookies were left for us. Only a 10 minute walk down to the beach (which is particularly lovely as the sun rises). A perfect base to explore the lizard. Absolutely recommend.”

    Cosy & quiet...

    The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, complete with rare wildlife species and spectacular scenery. On clear nights the Milky Way can be seen. There are many rewarding walks near us, not least the South West Coast Path which passes by Kennack Sands.

    Our cottages are quiet, cosy and offer authentic Cornish holidays with nature at the heart. We are very conscious that everything we do has an impact and we want to tread as lightly as we can. We are passionate about reducing our footprint and inspiring our guests to minimise the impact of their stay. We try to show that ‘going green’ does not mean compromise and guests can rest assured that just by staying at Little Gwendreath, they are helping protect the environment they are here to enjoy.
