Welcome to the Ship Inn

Mousehole is the definition of a picture-postcard Cornish fishing village. Despite being a little over three miles from Penzance, you can’t help but feel completely transported from the hustle and bustle of daily life here.

The Ship Inn occupies a truly enviable spot right on the water’s edge. The harbour is renowned for being among the most beautiful in the whole of Britain. While its days as a hotspot for pilchard fishing are in the past, it is still frequented by quaint boats, many of which are working vessels.

Sink into a window seat and gaze at the passing maritime activity from the comfort of the inn while sipping on one of St Austell Brewery’s award-winning beers. The impressive menu offers heart-warming food and enticing specials, while the interior charms with oak beams, character features, and the crackle of an open fire.

This is an ideal base for exploring Cornwall’s ‘Wild West’. What’s more, it’s the perfect snug for families and their canine companions too. The Ship’s 11 rooms, all en-suite, are located above the Inn and within the charming terraced cottage right next door. Rooms blend the historic elements of the building with a contemporary feel and you will find all mod cons.

Mousehole is a patchwork of galleries and craft shops that line its narrow, winding streets. A small, sheltered beach is found to the corner of the harbour, offering a safe and serene spot for bathing. The village is well-placed for exploring the likes of St Ives and Land’s End.

Wonderful pub in an awesome location. Beautiful room with amazing view. Staff were friendly and warm.
